About Me

I trained at the Hornsey College of Art in North London during the early sixties. After leaving college, however, I pursued a career as a film editor, then director, then producer, in television. During the seventies and eighties I made many TV documentaries on the arts, bringing me into contact with painters, musicians, writers and composers, amongst them Euan Uglow, Francis Bacon, Joanna Carrington, Gore Vidal, Peter Maxwell Davies, Leonard Bernstein and William Walton. On moving permanently to France in 1998 I started painting again full time, and paint landscapes mainly in the Limousin, where I live with my composer wife, Myriam Martin. Together we also make documentary films recording life here in rural France.
